Family Worship
Lord’s Day 5
Starting January 25, 2026
* These elements are the best for families new to family worship.
Call to Worship
Hear God call the family to worship and respond in unison:
Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!Serve the Lord with gladness!
Come into his presence with singing! Psalm 100:1-2
Or:
Praise the Lord!
Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good,
His steadfast love endures forever! Psalm 106:1
Confession
(Optional) Take a moment and give each family member an opportunity to confess their sins verbally.
The father prays on behalf of the family:
Almighty and most merciful Father,
we have sinned against you
and done what was evil in your sight. Psalm 51:4
We have done things we should not do,
and we have not done things we should do.
O Lord, have mercy upon us. Psalm 51:1
Grant us to live a godly and righteous life,
To the glory of your holy Name. Amen.
Assurance of Pardon
Receive the Word of God as the father reads:
God has said in His Word that:
We have an advocate with the Father,
Jesus Christ the righteous.
He is the propitiation for our sins. 1 John 2:1-2
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just
to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us
from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

Q. However, there was one man that found favor in God’s eyes. What was his name?
A. Noah.
A. An ark is really big boat.
Q. Why was Noah going to need a really big boat?
A. God said He was going to destroy the Earth with a flood.
A. A covenant is an agreement between two people in a relationship. For example, your mommy and I are in a covenant relationship we call marriage. We have agreed together to love one another no matter what until we die.
Q. Who was God making a covenant with?
A. Noah and his family.
Q. What was God promising to do for Noah?
A. He promised to bring him into the ark and keep Noah and his family safe during the flood.
Q. How many of each animal did God command Noah to bring on the ark?
A. Two of each. Male and female.

A. 150 days.

A. In the mountains of Ararat.
Q. Do you know how Noah discovered that the waters were completely dried up?
A. Noah sent out a raven to fly. If the raven was able to find land where it could rest, the raven would not return. However, the raven went back and forth from the ark until the waters went away and it did not come back. Then Noah sent out a dove. The first time Noah sent the dove, it came back with nothing. The second time Noah sent out the dove, it came back with an olive branch showing that the waters were going away. The third time he sent out the dove, the dove found somewhere else to live and did not come back. That meant that the ground was dry and they could leave the ark.

A. He will never again curse the ground or strike down all living creatures like He did here.

*Prayer
Hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,

And lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil.
For yours is the kingdom, and the power,
and the glory, forever. Amen.
